The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) is designed to help job seekers secure the employment, education, training and support services necessary to succeed in the labor market and to match employers with the skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy.

WIOA

Workforce Solutions South Plains helps youth, aged 14-24, prepare for success in the classroom – and on the job. You can receive work-readiness and life skills that will help you achieve YOUR career goals. Through WIOA some of the services we offer include:
  • GED or High School Equivalency Preparation
  • Alternative Secondary School Services
  • Tutoring, Study Skills Training, and Instruction
  • Career Counseling
  • Leadership Skills Development
  • Job Skills Training

Career Exploration

Planning for your future can feel overwhelming especially when deciding what career field best suits you. The more you know about your skills and preferences, the more prepared you are to write resumes, interview with employers, and find that career that best fits you.

Our workforce career coaches can help you learn about occupations available in the South Plains that match your unique career preference, skills, interests, and values. We provide current labor market information to give you the opportunity to research in-demand occupations, salaries, career options, required education, and training/skills levels.

We encourage you to speak with one of our specialists and use these tools provided to make informed decisions about both your career and educational opportunities.

Summer Earn
and Learn (SEAL)

The Summer Earn and Learn (SEAL) program provides students with disabilities, aged 14 – 22, with work readiness training and paid work experience. SEAL is a statewide strategy that includes employability skills training and paid work experience for students with disabilities receiving services from Texas Workforce Commission Vocational Rehabilitation Services (TWC-VR).
